So in the prospect review last night just like other reviews etc, when Shinkaruk came up, there was a lot of emphasis on how elite his offensive skills were, and just how dangerous of a player he is projected to be. NOT to imply that he is who the Flames should consider, but I'd just like to know what is separating him from Lindholm/Monahan? As there wasn't nearly as much emphasis on goal scoring ability/offense in talk around L/M as there was with him (I know Lindholm is considered more of a playmaker). Are L/M just more well rounded, as well as the size factor? Hockey sense/IQ? It just sounds like they're overselling him a bit at 9/10 compared to even some higher ranked players. (Maybe cause they think Edm will pick him up..)
He's kind of being made out to sound like the "Iginla" of the draft, in terms of a pure goal scorer. And it keeps catching my attention, which is why I'm curious to know what places our potential 2 center picks ahead of him.
