Agreed that it will take an overpayment to trade up into the top 3 draft spots, but I have to agree with Tangerz post about Jonathan Drouin. He is not massively over-rated at all. Drouin has probably the best pure skill in the draft, it would be a shame if we didn't try to trade up for this world class talent. Another poster was bang on, when you look at how Drouin plays, he is very similar to a young Claude Giroux. I know he rates lower than Seth Jones and Nathan MacKinnon in other facets of the game, but in terms of pure skill/talent, there is no one in the draft better. He is just pure silk, but does have that fiery competitiveness you don't see in every flashy player. I would be thrilled to get him, but once again I temper that by understanding and agreeing with you and a few other posters, it would take an overpayment to get there. I just think his skill is just too amazing to pass up on, he will be a legitimate superstar in the NHL.

On a side note, According to a TSN arcticle, 4 out of 10 Chief Scouts of NHL team's reportedly ranked Drouin ahead of MacKinnon at 2nd overall, and 1 out 10 ranked him 1st overall, so at least there is some credibility to Drouin being the best. Mind you, obviously more scouts ranked the other two higher, it at least lends itself to the conversation that he could be the best.
