If it was a generational player I'd be ok with it. Though of course, no team would probably agree to that trade then.
I'm not sure MacKinnon or Jones is worth it. Not saying they wouldn't be good, but they'd be like the Oilers first rounders. One of those is not going to make a huge difference on their own.
The only player recently that I think I may have been tempted on, that also may have made sense in a trade like this would be Tavaras. Not quite a Crosby/Ovechkin, whom the other team wouldn't have given up for all the picks in the world anyway, but a very good player that would make a huge difference on a good team.
