Ron Paul on the Boston Police.
"The Boston bombing provided the opportunity for the government to turn what should have been a police investigation into a military-style occupation of an American city," Paul wrote on the website of Lew Rockwell, a libertarian writer. "This unprecedented move should frighten us as much or more than the attack itself."

I would argue the opposite...the directive from law enforcement not only potentially saved lives but allowed them to concentrate on the investigation so they didn't need to turn things into a military style occupation. And kudos for the majority of the population recognizing their role and allowing the police to do just that.
