Will preface this buy saying I think 95% he's gone.
If this last year had been a regular offseason and pre-season, my guess is he doesn't get hurt, and, doesn't play so poorly before he gets hurt.
The Flames are then not likely in the position they are right now...a couple more wins earlier on, then not the indecision on trying to figure out what to do with Taylor, Irving, and shaking the rust off McDonlad, so an extra win here and there.
From that then, maybe Iginla and Bouwmester are kept etc etc as the Flames push for a playoff spot.
Far too many factors to figure out what could've been, but this guy can still play, wants to play and wants to play here.
I don't think Hartely has helped the situation (Kipper's, and, others to be honest)...if he's still around, then there's even less chance he'd be back.
