The whole group needs to take the blame for the small skilled experiment.

Somehow the Flames went and iced a very non-physical line-up.

Was this a plan? Did they feel that the NHL was going to out-law physical play and a small team like the Flames would spend 20-25 minutes/ game on the Power play?

When you have Cammalleri, Tanguay and Baertschi as key players in your top-6 how can you justify going after Hudler??

Was this simply a case of the best players available all being small. Is this because there is limited spots for them in the NHL? There is a premium on good big players for a reason.

It seems that after signing Hudler someone looked at the roster and panicked.... They had to sign Comeau and Sarich.

There just seems to be a lot of panic moves...... Signing Babchuck to a 2 year deal for instance.
After stating that there was no place in the Flames organization for goons.... They have to go an sign McGratton.

as for the influence of "hockey People" which I take to be the guys that played in the NHL: Conroy and Goulet seem to be building the team in their image..... skilled non-physical . This was 100% change from Sutter leaned towards players that would work hard and were a bigger. Had he personally been 3 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier he would have been a HOF player.
