As an update:

-The parents have postponed any trip to claim the body. The mother would likely be arrested on outstanding charges and probably wouldn't come anyways. Both parents have also been placed on the no-fly list. They have moved to another undisclosed area of Russia.

-Russia was wiretapping the mother and they overheard discussions of jihad between mother and son. FBI says the conversation was "vague". At the time Russia told the US to look into the older son, the mother was put on the TIDE list (list of half a million terrorists or potential terrorists)

-Russia killed two jihadists in Dagestan. One was a close friend of the groups leader.
