Default April 27th - Big Day

What was scheduled to be the final day of the season:

Devils vs Rangers
Canadiens vs Leafs
Flyers vs Senators
Bruins vs Capitals
Panthers vs Lightning
Blue Jackets vs Predators
Wings vs Stars
Hurricanes vs Penguins
Wild vs Avalanche
Blackhawks vs Blues
Canucks vs Oilers
Coyotes vs Ducks
Kings vs Sharks

Big day for the Flames. If the Predators win they move up a spot with their own draft pick. If the Hurricanes get at least a point they move up as well. If both happen they're sitting pretty at the 4th draft position prior to the draft.

For the Blue's pick, St. Louis needs to lose in regulation before the Leafs, Kings and Sharks can all past them. And it would still require an OTL by the Kings against the Sharks and the Leafs to grab a single point. If the Blues manage only a point, Toronto and Los Angeles can still pass them with a win. And if the Blues win, everything's moot and they keep their position.

But for the rest of the teams it's an equally big day for everyone but the Panthers, who have secured 30th spot, and the Jets who wont change their position. Colorado could drop from 2nd overall to 4th tonight in the draft, Nashville could end up between 2nd and 6th while Tampa could end up between 2nd and 5th and Carolina between 3rd and 7th. Edmonton could move up a spot if the Canes end up grabbing 1 more point than them tonight.

For the lucky fans who get to watch their teams beyond today, not a single playoff match has been set. The Leafs are the closest to having a decision as they will play the Bruins or the Canadiens without home ice advantage. The Bruins could end up with Toronto, New York Islanders, Ottawa, or New York Rangers and many teams have similar fates.

And finally the Western Conference teams to make the playoffs have yet to be decided. Detroit and Minnesota are in a "win and you're in" situation, but a loss by either team opens up the chance for the Jackets to claw their way into the race, although it would take a non-OTL by Detroit. Detroit's out if they lose, Columbus wins and the Wild get at least 1 point. The Wild get invited to the dance with a win, a Columbus loss or getting to extra minutes and Detroit losing.
