Nope if you're lucky you convert an aging asset that is UFA in a year into a young player that ends up better than Cammalleri and could play with us for a decade. That would be good asset management and solid logic.
As has been noted we have quite a few skilled, undersized or weak wingers (Cammalleri, Hudler, Cervenka, Tanguay, Baertschi) so we'd be dealing from a position of strength to get another young guy that could be a core player moving forward.
I'd love to move Cammalleri for a 1st this year. Unfortunately his cap hit is extremely prohibitive in an offseason where the cap will be going down. He's far, far more tradeable at the next trade deadline.
