MLSE has hired Tim Leiweke as its new president. He's got experience from LA in running AEG, which owns the Kings, Galaxy, and part of the Lakers. But the more interesting element for Raptors fans is that he is said to know Phil Jackson quite well, and rumours are everywhere that this is the first part of taking a run at offering Jackson the Raptors President and/or GM position.

So I think there's three questions here: is this really what MLSE is planning; would Jackson ever consider taking a job with the Raptors; and, would Jackson actually make a good president or GM?

As much as I respect Jackson, and as much as I would like to see the end of the Colangelo era, I would hope that MLSE doesn't have tunnel vision about Jackson this early in the process. That said, Leiweke seems like a really good hire, regardless.

edit: I have to say after reading a little bit more, it really sounds like Jackson is looking for more of a president, or president of basketball operations role, rather than GM.
