If you got the lucky shot that actually hit an intake the fan would chew that ball up and spot it out and the pilot probably wouldn't even know it happened. You might tweak a blade so the airline would not be happy.

It would have to be a hell of a shot. Most of the planes are still pretty high when over the beach. We are in St. Maarten right now and literally just got back from that beach. What a way to spend a dinner!
