No one's crapping their pants, but drafting top 3 this year was THE chance for us to close the gap, rather than simply maintaining it (even that is a big if).

Geeoff already touched on it, but the way we close the gap is drafting 3 solid players in the first round. There may be a drop between 1-3 and 4-7 players but there is even a bigger gap from first to 2nd round. How the Flames close the gap is get players with their other 2 first rounders.
