That being said, Edmonton isn't going to take Gio and the 26-30th pick for a top five. They could do better (theoretically).

Personally I don't care about the semantics of dealing with the Oilers. Business is business and you do whatever you have to to improve your team.
I don't think it would happen because the Flames probably have Gio pegged for captain but the Oilers lack an all around guy like Geo and as a Flames fan I wouldn't want to give up more than that because if they say take Nurse with that pick there's no guarantee he becomes any better of a player than Gio and you also lose possibly a good player at the end of round one. I don't believe the Oilers are going to fetch a better defenseman than Gio that's still in his prime for that pick personally.
