It's quite obvious they are in the "hey hopefully we lose out" position but they are still giving the players the nod to go out and give 100% effort and give the fans again, some of the most entertaining Flames hockey we've had in years.
They are simply treating these final few games like the start of training camp. If you really are this upset I can't imagine you've enjoyed the past few weeks much nor will you enjoy the next couple seasons I suspect because in that time we will continue to have one of the worst teams in the league, on paper at least.

Like I said I was fine with the previous lineup because we were not sitting players that contribute. But having 4 of your top 5 healthy (regular) forwards as scratches is an abomination.
This lineup likely wouldn't even be allowed to participate in the pre-season and that says alot.
