Despite Romney-care and Obama-care, the victims are likely to suffer financially.

Prosthetics can cost up to $45,000 for adults and over $100,000 for children, who need to get them replaced several times as they continue to grow. Rehabilitation treatments for those who have lost limbs can run up $200 per hour. And even for those who were less seriously injured, the emergency room care they received in the immediate aftermath of the explosions could easily top $40,000.
It’s not yet clear who will foot those bills.

“In some other mass disasters, people have stepped up when it was terrorism. Employers will step up and say, ‘We’ve got you.’ Hospitals will say, ‘We’ve got you,’” said Miller. “The question is what happens in two years. What happens in four years. What happens in 25 years later when my prosthetic needs to be replaced?”
