To be completely honest, I just can't see him keeping up with the AHL play. I know he's playing against men over in Finland, but he's not playing against 6'4" aggressive monsters and borderline NHL goalies. The AHL is offensively stifling and he's an offensive player.
I guess we'll see what happens with him.

If he stays in Finland how do you know when he's ready to try the NHL? I know SM-liiga isn't the best league in the world, but it isn't that far behind the AHL. I think Granlund would be fine and the opportunity to play in the AHL would be good for his adjustment to the smaller ice. I wish the Flames would start focusing more on development opportunities with their AHL team and spend less time focusing on their win-loss record. Granlund is going to need an adjustment period and that should be done on the farm.
