Agreed, that was extremely impressive to listen to on that scanner, just the level of coordination and patience setting up, and painstakingly taking every precaution possible to ensure no-one would be in the line of fire right before they were planning on moving in. Not that I didn't already have it anyway, but I gained huge respect for the police force and other emergency response teams listening to how that all played out.
...what wasn't impressive was after listening to that channel for over 4hrs straight after getting home, I was away for under 10min when they said the heli was going back to re-fuel, thinking I had a small window, and came back to hear them already celebrating. Though judging by the responses in this thread, it was an anti-climatic finish anyway, which further speaks to what an amazing job those involved did. After seeing that firefight in the morning, no way in hell did I expect him to be captured alive.
