Purists in England (like my cousin) already cuss non-traditional times for matches for TV, but the revenue is simply so important to the league.

Eventually they might just switch to the system used in countries like the Netherlands where top flight matches are played on a different day than lower league matches. The new TV agreement for clubs begins next season and it is pretty large, the next deal might be able to convince club owners to make the switch as money talks.
