You have to remember that anyone in the top 3 could turn out to be elite franchise players for their teams. Now, you would say how is that different from any other draft year. Well, top 3/4 this year are supposed to have a much higher ceiling than a top 3 in previous years. Hence the comparisons to the 2003 draft. Of course you never know who is going make it and who isn't, but I'd much rather still have a top 3 pick than trade it to Columbus for their 12th, 15th, and 20th.
I suppose there is a deeper pool of talent in the draft so the chances of getting a better player at 12 are higher. But I would still take that top 3 pick any day.

The strength of this draft is that it's deep in talent however another thing that sets it apart is that the top 3 players all look to be special talents.
