As such expect it wont be Al Queda but some home grown nutter, they may claim to be the Black Panther Islamic Revoltionary Front or the like but the whole thing seems way to random and amatuar, I see Al Queda as more likely to use suicide bombers strapped up with C4 (as the suicide aspect really rattles us in the west) and the blast would aim to kill hundreds.

It also strikes me that Boston is fairly close to Sandy Hook so it may turn out to be some wack job punishing those godless north easterners for gun control.
I would argue with your theory since Al Queda is less about being an organization and more about being a bank, a training center and a phone book for loosely linked cells that in recent years has pretty well franchised its name.

at this point they'll provide you with funding, some training and rudimentary planning assistance and cut you loose.

I think there's a legend out there about the sophistication of bomb making and materials. Basically a 10 year old who can buy the materials and read a wiring diagram can build a half way competent bomb using a cell phone and some batteries and of course bomb material.

Buying explosives illegally is not that difficult, a lot of nations make chemical explosive knockoffs and cell it on the side for hard currency, or workers will accidentally miscount inventory.

I don't know if its a Muslim event, but I'm willing to bet that whatever group it is it is homegrown to the States. Al Queda doesn't need to smuggle operatives into target countries anymore.

It could just as well be a radical right militia group, or a white supremacy group.

I guessed wrong, I said earlier that I didn't think that this weapon had a fragmentation element because the casualty count was fairly low, looks like I was wrong and the low casualty count is a fortunate event even though 3 people are dead and up to 100 wounded.

Lots of stories of bravery today.
