There is still major uncertainty with regards to the Jankowski draft. It could be a homerun or a major bust. Gillies looks like a good pick but the rest are all still uncertain, including Seiloff.

The signings since he's been around don't really show that much:

David Eddy and Brady Lamb - two college guys who don't look like they'll amount to much;

Hudler and Wideman - Hudler is okay, but they paid a lot to get him and he's essentially a support player. Wideman looked great at the beginning of the season but has been atrocious since the half way point. Both are locked in long term. I don't see anything special about these signings. Pretty much paid top dollar for the secondary UFA crop.

Cervenka - sold by Weisbrod as a centre, can't play centre in the NHL.

As for trades:

Iginla - we'll see if Agostino and Hanowski turn into anything. Both of these are on Weisbrod. The general hockey world has panned the return;

Bouwmeester - again, Cundari and Berra are on Weisbrod. General hockey world has panned this too;

Cammalleri - Ramo "best goaltender outside the NHL" for a 2nd round pick, I guess we'll see.

There really hasn't been any positive results so far in terms of acquiring good impactful players resulting from Weisbrod's "eye for talent". Has there been a real positive addition to the core since he's been Feaster's right hand man? Sure he sounds like he knows what he's doing, but where are the results?
I think we should have a better idea in two years. This upcoming draft is make or break. This organization can't afford a whiff on their first pick or even the 2nd or 3rd picks for that matter. In two years if the three players they get in this first round disappoint in thier developement and Jankowski doesn't look like an NHL player then yes I would have to say he talks better than he evaluates talent.
