I highly doubt it. It all depends on what he studied and where he ends up working. But fresh Yale grads generally start off under $70K a year. Agostino will get that in AHL salary not to mention a likely signing bonus of $90K a year. And if he gets called up to the NHL, that's a couple of thousand dollars A DAY. Besides, he can always return to school if his hockey career doesn't work out.

I don't see how pride is relevant here. If Agostino already has a full ride academic scholarship and managed to keep it all these years, all he's doing is giving up that scholarship to pursue a career in the NHL. I don't understand how voluntarily turning down a scholarship or voluntarily giving up a scholarship to pursue a well-regarded dream of playing in the NHL would affect Agostino's pride. If anything, he can boast about being offered an NHL contract and how he chose to forgo his last year of a full ride scholarship to Yale (if that was the case).
