Was able to watch the "replay" on CBC and had some thoughts on the game that have probably been covered (although, like a lot of you, I read the whole thread, and have thoroughly enjoyed it!).
- speed. Maybe it's because I watched the 1986 Flames/Oilers playoff game where it seemed really slow, but the Flames looked fast, really fast. As much as the Kool-aid vendors at HNIC and TSN keep telling us the the coilers are these offensive juggernauts that are impossible to stop, I thought the Flames matched, and in a lot of cases, exceeded the coilers speed and looked hard to keep up with.
-Jackman- who is this guy? He's looked like a different dude the last few games, but last night may have been his best as a Flame. Always in the way (except when he got burnt by Hall), and was a beast on the forecheck.
- Schultz - is this guy that bad or is it the coilers bringing him down (or vice versa). Seems ok in the other teams zone, but, wow, does he make a lot of dumb decisions in his own zone - not just Reinhart's goal, but a few other times the giveaways were head shakers.
- Sarich - I mentioned Jackman looking like a different dude, but I thought Sarich was solid again. While he doesn't have the speed, he's been positionally smart and I think is a good leader for these younger dudes.
Anyway, just a few thoughts. Thanks for all the posts! This thread is a nice distraction from the previous weeks!
