You are so delusional. The Leafs and Oilers have won games "here and there" at the end of the season for the past decade. Please explain to me how that was good for them. I'd say that at least 90% of the roster that is currently playing right now won't be anywhere near this team by the time they are actually ready to compete for the Stanley Cup. This whole loser mentality thing is nonsense. If a player can't shake off a losing streak and becomes so irrevocably damaged because they lost a handful of games during a meaningless season then that player is a loser and won't ever be successful at the NHL level anyway. Cheer for wins now if that floats your boat, but don't hold it against fans that actually care about this team and want to see some tangible success in the future.
