It's not such a bad spot considering our two biggest and closest rivals.
Edmonton: What can they say? Not only do they currently suck, they've been last-place bad for about half a decade. There isn't much they can say without sounding like that Verve guy that posts here making himself sound ignorant and hypocritical with every notion he tries to put forth.
The Oilers have been and are so terrible their fans just don't have a leg to stand on when it comes to criticizing anyone else's team / organization.
Vancouver: Sure they've been a very good regular season team for a few years now... but I really think that deflating cup run and epic city wide melt down humbled even the most indignant of their fans.
Any time a Canuck fan attempts to say anything to me I bring up the fact they have become notorious league wide for their emasculated, heartless demeanor. Their team makeup clearly favours embellishment and going down easy over battling through. All you need to do is bring up the likes of Alex Burrows biting and pulling the hair of another grown man... Sedin becoming a punching bag with zero resistance in the cup finals... and of course, the burning down of Vancouver in that epic hissy fit... and every Canuck fan knows deep down inside the disgrace that is now engrained in that team's very make up. You can just tell the realization of those shameful truths is understood from even the most boorish of their fans. A President's trophy doesn't change that in the slightest.
So at the end of the day, our rivals can't really say a whole lot.
