It's good to see the kids get to play but don't fool yourself into thinking they are learning to win here at garbage time. The Oilers and Leafs have fooled their fans many times coming up big when it no longer counts. The loser mentality began years ago and won't be alleviated by winning meaningless games at the end of the season. The group that's going to pull this team out of the doldrums isn't even half complete and most of these guys won't even be around when the good times return so there's really no worries about losing out this season cultivating something that's been present all season.
The bottom line is the only thing that counts from now on in is picking top 3 in the July draft. Nothing else matters.

While most of these pairs will likely not be on the next playoff version of the flames, they don't flip half the roster overnight. If you don't want a country club with no accountability, it had better start now as the new people enter. The "next" ones will will filter in slowly joining these ones and learning from them. What attitude would you have them get used to?
