Well, as a parent, you really have to control the online access of your children. You have to make yourself aware of the security tools available from an offensive and a defensive perspective
Some of my colleagues that have daughters have responded quickly by immediately bringing a potential incident to the attention of the school and providing forensic evidence of hostile activity. You have to control access as well, there is no way I would allow my kids to operate online with closed doors until they are at least finished high school and off to college. Similarly mobile devices(both android and IOS) have many tools available.
Unfortunately we are in sort of a transition period where the laws to protect privacy are not quite mature and some of the parents are not yet up to speed on cyber-defense.
