That was fairly well thought out but he misses a key point in that the Flames aren't the Edmonton Oilers. I don't doubt that hard times are ahead but I don't see the Flames making a lot of the same mistakes the Oilers have by primarily drafting forwards out of the same mold when the entire team needed help from goaltender out. Just because the Oilers botched their year of 3 first round draft picks it doesn't mean the Flames will. A lot of pieces had to fall in place for the Oilers remarkably bad stretch if ineptitude as even perennial losers such as the Islanders and Leafs haven't dropped to the depth the Oilers have over the past 4 or 5 years. As much as this fan may want to associate with the our predicament it's not the same. The circumstances maybe but different organizations, players and different people making the decisions. Not saying King, Feaster and Co. are geniuses as they clearly aren't but there is only one Kevin Lowe and Steve Tambellini. Oilers fans perspective is unique indeed.
