Are you guys honestly telling me that if you could acquire a player like Backlund for a 2nd or 3rd round pick you wouldn't do it? Let's be honest here too, the odds of acquiring a better player than Backlund in the 2nd or 3rd round are what? 1/30, so 3%?
Yeah, I think most people would be ok with shipping out 2nd/3rds for young NHLers with upside potential, or at least should be ok with it. That's a lot different than adding veteran depth grit players for a playoff push, imo.
