I don't think Cervenka has done that badly. He is on pace for about 15 goals and 30 points as a rookie, I don't see any problem with that what so ever. The problem is too many people had such over inflated expectations of him that he just couldn't live up to them. People also underestimated the effect things like culture shock, being away from his family and the difference between the North American and European style of game.
I would definitely give Cervenka another chance if he is willing to re-sign here. I think he will continue to improve and show more of the skill he has shown flashes of. I would not be shocked to see him score 20 goals next year and finish with 40-50 points.
