Just consider that in the 15-35 range Jay Feaster has drafted 18.5 games of NHL play through 4 players, and like he did last year, the guys he took in that range were considered high ceiling guys that were years away. They all busted.
The magic beans are always going to be worth more, but if you're offered a prospect that is developing along a nice curve that is sometimes just as valuable. I for one would have taken Rattie, a 2nd and other pieces over that pick. Rattie looks a good bet to be at least a 2nd line winger and if Feaster managed to find a top 6 guy like that in the 16-23 range, we'd be ecstatic.
