The Avalanche are past rebuilding and should be challenging for a playoff spot but it seems that the players no longer care about winning hockey games which IMO is a coaching and management issue as we all know that Sacco should have been fired last year but management kept a coach one or two years past his expiry date and the results are what you see on the ice with a 30th place team.
