This probably won't happen, but if I were a coach, I would seriously consider benching Kipper for most of the remaining games. With the Florida win, Calgary now sits in the #29 spot. If they lose nearly all of their remaining games, they will finish dead last, and all but ensure they pick #1 Overall in the 2013 Entry Draft.
The Penguins did this in 1984, and fell behind New Jersey (a team far worse), and ended up drafting Mario Lemieux. Ottawa tried this in 2003, but had little success with Alexandre Daigle. Either way, Calgary will undoubtedly get a choice of Nathan MacKinnon, or Seth Jones. Having one of these players will make the future of the Flames organization that much brighter.
