How long is Hartley's contract? I bet it has more than one year left on it. And I'm not sure what your last point proves. It just seems to me that the team was desperate to move Kotalik's salary rather than bury him on the farm, and the rumor is that the team refused to keep part of Bouwmeester's salary even though it would have gotten the team a better return.
