I don't see Hartley as the problem. Under him the team has suffered defensively, but that that be attributed as much to goaltending as defensive coverage. Losing Kiprusoff for a large chunk of the reason really hurt this team, it all starts with goaltending, without it the confidence of the team suffers.
Many things have improved under Hartley. The PP has been better than it has been in some time. Team discipline has improvedconsiderably, the Flames have gone from one of the most penalitzed teams in the NHL to the least penalized team.
I give Hartley atleast another season to work with our youngsters. Without Iginla, Hartley can now take the reins in a way that no coach has been able to since D. Sutter. I'm not expecting a huge jump in the standings next season, but I am hopeful that Hartley can get better results. I want to see more team consistency, which hopefully will result in more team confidence, and that can only mean good things for our younger players.
