At this time, the young centerman's game is not ready for the physical North American style of play and the smaller ice surface. His overall strength and defensive game need more improvement to be able to compete in the AHL or NHL. His contract with HIFK has been extended through the 2013-14 season and Granlund will continue his development in Europe until he feels ready to attempt playing in North America.

Did Feaster mention that he was on the list to be signed? If not do we retain his rights? I know they increased the year limits for Euro players but not sure if this would apply to old draft picks. Maybe I've asked this before, anyways I don't think we should let him go. We can sign him and let him play in Finland like Ortio.
