If he did then he wouldn't have put out leaks that included peoples names that were working with the American's in Afghanistan, information on how American troops were trying to defeat IED's.
I'm fine with him putting some of the stuff out there that needed to see the light of day, but he literally leaked information that put peoples lives in jeopardy.
The guys no different then the Anonymous people, they might start with good reasoning, but then they believe their hype and become their own rockstars.
I would welcome him running and winning in the senate, would he be so willing to leak sensitive information if he's part of the government, and if he does then that's the greatest definition of treason that there is.

I think Assange is a ###### bag of biblical proportions that said I believe wikileaks did actually give the US military the option of highlighting sections that would put lives in danger and the US refused to cooperate
