at the start of the year, looking at the draft class, I honestly did not think we would be here with a realistic chance of grabbing MacKinnon. Very lucky to have things fall into place as they have because for a rebuild just being bad isn't enough, it is being bad at the right time. With the right draft class you can turn things around quite quickly.
going into last draft, bob McKenzie took a quick poll from from scouts and such and had MacKinnon been in that draft he would be the hands down first pick across the board.
the thought of being able to inject one of the big three into the prospect pool in itself is exciting, but thought the thought of a couple more first rounders this year is really making me excited about the possibilities.
