It's not worth going for the player who
might be a 95, when there are plenty of guys who are a 90 who seem much more of a sure-thing. There are no guarantees that any one of them will be great, but the Flames just cannot screw this draft up. They have to play it safe...even if it means you get a marginally lower-skilled player.
If we were already stocked up with great prospects, sure, go nuts. But without any real elite prospects to speak of (besides maybe Sven), they don't have any goodwill to take that chance right now.
