Especially Sarich who is as close to useless as you can get for a team that is REBUILDING but will make 2 million next year. I just cant understand how Feaster couldn't have gotten a 7th round pick from a playoff team wanting a 7th or 8th Dman and who I'm sure is a pretty good locker room guy with a ring......really doesn't make a lick of sense.
I don't mind too much that the Flames didn't sell Sarich or Stempniak.

They both have another year on their contract. The rebuild is going to last all of next season at least. Both should have higher value then. Sarich will probably get more time in the lineup as well, so it will only boost his numbers. Hopefully Stempniak has a solid season, and I think is great to have on a young center's wing, as he is physical, defensively responsible and talented enough.

Babchuk was the only one I was really hoping would be gone from an upcoming UFA perspective, but there just must have not been any interest. If Feaster traded Comeau for a 5th (which was a nice surprise, even though I give Comeau full props for playing hard and redeeming himself somewhat), he definitely would have traded Babchuk for a 7th or even a conditional pick.

I don't think Tanguay and Cammalleri are long for this team. Cammy has better value next season anyways. Trade him at the draft to someone desperate enough, or perhaps use him in an effort to move up a few spots if they are trying to target someone specific (obviously not in the top 10)... or just play him next season and trade him at the deadline (which is he most likely scenario).

I am glad the Flames didn't go full tank. They need guys to shoulder the burden for a bit while whatever prospects are ready for the NHL next season get in without drowning.
