Here is his most recent blog post from 2 days ago where he announced he was stepping back a bit. Although it definitely didn't sound like he thought the end would be this soon.

Read more of his blog posts - he is a very good writer.
And I always like his reviews because he said he would review it with the intended audience in mind. If it was a Summer Blockbuster action flick he would review it as how he thought those people would enjoy it. If it was a chick flick, that would be different.
