I get that the team has made some mistakes and if I lived my life based on the mistakes i've made in the past there would be no hope for the future. People can and do change. That said it appears whatever I say going forward won't change your mind so i'll leave it at that.

You are speculating as to what players are given buyouts. If teams want to hold onto their core players some will have to rid themselves of prospects who are on entry level contracts or those looking to sign their second contracts. Or teams buying out some of their good players in an attempt to make room for their prospects. To overpay there would have to be a bidding war - something I don't see happening with many teams shedding contracts to meet the lower cap.
