That's a pretty good year for a GM. Buffalo may be in the dumps now but they won't be for long with proactive activity like that.

The problem is that he's been the GM of the Sabres for such a long time, accomplished very little, and he's rebuilding again because the core he built can't win.
It's been a seller's market at the deadline for years. It's pretty easy to come out looking good as a seller at the deadline. His Leino signing is looking pretty good though.
