You CAN get a system with just a pentium M though, and NOT the centrino intel chipset and wifi. These consume more power than a Centrino laptop WITH the chipset/wifi. Trust me. I've had two T series IBM laptops one with just the Pentium M, one that was full Centrino, both with the same screen size. The Centrino one has more battery life than the Pentium M one.
