Basically Kiprusoff is not likely going anywhere not because he doesnt necessarily want to, but because he isnt sure he has "it" anymore (and yes family/home issues as well at the moment). In fact it was insinuated by Warrener that Kiprusoff likely turned down an extension from Toronto that would of been "a lot" of money, because he isnt sure he would live up to the level of pay and was concerned he wouldnt earn whatever the compensation was. This is why the retirement thing is so front and center...niot because he doesnt want to play, but because he isnt sure he is able to play at the level he expects of himself moving forward.
Sure sounds like a selfish dick now doesnt he?

Kiprusoff is a proud guy, can't fault him for that. Kiprusoff has done more for this organization then any other player the past decade, including Iginla. It sucks he declined with age and we never offered him the backup and defense to lighten his workload (forget the No 1 D travesty) ... dude's been a slave workhorse for this team that is too lazy to come back and play a little team defense. And never, ever have I ever heard him complain; and for all the bitching and moaning about no No 1 C for Iginla, the lack of team defense and lack of backup goaltender goes totally un-noticed as Kiprusoff slaved away from keeping us from total embarrassment the past few years. Its only when Kiprusoff play drops off slightly that we go from the middle of the standings straight to the bottom - that tells you how much he was bailing our sorry asses out. We as Flames fans owe the world to him.
