The only negative thing that I can say about Kipper, is that he kept everyone from realizing how mediocre the Flames really were for so long. He served Calgary well (probably too well!), and if we wants to walk away from the game at 36 after having a baby with complications, I can't argue with that. He owes the franchise and the fans nothing more, especially a final year of a contract that everyone knew was a devalued wildcard to spread his cap hit out. That benefited the Flames as well, don't forget.
