If Kiprusoff is unwilling to move to another team now, why are we so sure that he was more willing a year ago? He may have been, but there is NO assurance of that, and he would still have completely controlled his fate.
I'm pretty disgusted by the entitlement of some fans that seem to think that every player must be converted into an "asset". Kiprusoff doesn't owe the Flames, Flames fans, or the city of Calgary a thing. Not . a . god . damned . thing. He is arguably the best goaltender to ever play in a Flames uniform, and I for one think that he deserves nothing more than our thanks and best-wishes as he transitions toward retirement.
