Kipper has carried this franchise for so long, say what you want about Iggy being the face but even in his prime we were likely not a playoff team most years without Kipper. I'll be very sad to see him go, far more than I was with Iggy and I was quite upset the first few days after he was gone. Kipper deserves to retire here if that is his choice, I don't want to see him moved for a late pick for the sake of getting something back for him (talking 3rd+ rounder here). I'm fine taking that pick however if he does decide he want's to play for a playoff contender, because if anyone deserves a chance to lift the cup it's him.

I hope he decides to move on and give it one last go on a team that has a chance at the post season the next few years because it looks like he's finally been beaten into submission mentally by this franchise and I can't say for one second that I blame him for finally appearing to have mentally checked out.
