I'll be the first one to admit (and tried to make it clear in my post) that it is not a rational response on my part. On the other hand, I feel the same way about it almost a full day later. I was just appalled and downright angry about that goal. I just can't shake the feeling that he just wanted to get off the ice as soon as humanly possible, and that goal certainly served that purpose.
I guess what I'm really mad about is just the total apathy. I know times are tough, but you're a professional, getting paid a significant amount of money to perform for your team. I understand and totally agree with the points about the team in front of him being, to put it bluntly, horrible.
But at the end of the day, you signed a contract, and in return, you should give everything you've got. Play to win, or go home. And from some of the comments from Maher and the others, it sure didn't seem like Kipper was interested in helping this team win.
And that, to me, is simply unforgiveable.
And now, after these least two games, the word is that he wants his contract fixed for next year, which I would have to assume would involve a buyout, then signing a new deal (can you even do that with the same team?). Wow, that's ballsy.
