I'd say it's clear they were interested in Bouw for a long while (probably since Lidstrom retired). What they were offering this week is really irrelevant. If there are two known parties interested in acquiring the services of a player, Feaster likely could have played it up more - but I suspect he's not done with the fire sale - and likely has a lot on his plate with the rumors of kipper and glencross alone - not to mention tanguay, cammi, and giordano rumors we've seen mentioned on this board in the last couple days.

I'll bet the conversation about Bouw with Detroit went on all year though. Detroit knew they'd need help, and coming into the season Calgary wanted to rid themselves of him. The conversation between Holland and Feaster likely changed drastically as the season went on.
